SHOW
JUMPING 2012
DEAR ALL,
I look forward to see lots of you jumping in the near future, I
hope the points below will help you.
I am delighted that Di Cheeseman has kindly volunteered to help me with
the administration for Show Jumping, this should help with
future planning and the entry system, giving me more time to
focus on training sessions with children and selection of
teams/riders.
PLEASE NOTE THE
NEW ENTRY SYSTEM EXPLAINED BELOW DOES NOT APPLY TO THE CRAWLEY
AND HORSHAM SHOWJUMPING AT SANDS FARM FEB 14th AND 15th. PLEASE
CONTINUE TO SEND CHEQUES TO ME (Caroline Martin). Please refer
to the email sent by The Pony Club 24th Jan 2012.
Your children need to be seen
jumping if not known to myself or a designated trainer before
entering a team.
You MUST please buy a Show
Jumping Rule book, so you know the rules!! Available from me
(Caroline Martin) £3 each.
You will be
receiving a list of competition dates via e mail from Di
Cheeseman. Each competition will have a closing date clearly
stated on the list. Cheques must be received BEFORE the
closing date stated on the list so teams can be organised well
in advance of the competition date.
Cheques need to
be made payable to Old Surrey and Burstow Hunt Pony Club and
sent to Diane Cheeseman, 6 Edgar Close, Worth, Crawley, West
Sussex, RH10 7RF. Please write on the back of each cheque
rider’s name, pony/horse’s name, competition date, class you
would like to enter. If you wish to enter both the individual
and team event then PLEASE can you send 2 separate cheques
.Thanks.
Immediately
after each closing date names will be forwarded to me (Caroline
Martin) of riders who wish to be included in teams and whose
entry cheque has been received!
I will then advise you of team selection hopefully within a few days of
our closing date.
Unfortunately
there can be no guarantees of team selection, but the aim is to
put into teams all riders who are keen to compete and who are of
the required standard for the class . Unfortunately sometimes
there may not be a place on a team as we do not always get the
exact number of riders for teams of 4 (or 3 if necessary). We
may also be limited by the host pony club in the number of teams
we are allowed to send to a competition.
Most
competitions hold individual classes as well. These can be for
riders who want to do 2 classes, riders who do not make the team
on that day and riders who do not want to jump in a team or who
feel they are not ready to jump in a team.
You will need to
look on the host PC website 2/3 days prior to a comp for your
times to jump.
Please arrive at
least 1 hour before you are due to jump, with time to course
walk. Find me (Caroline Martin) or the designated team manager
for that day, You will be advised if I am not able to attend. I
will be asking and assigning an appropriate person to course
walk teams or individuals who need guidance. Pony Club dress
code please.
PLEASE NOTE:
The rules state the following: If you have any objections,
complaints, concerns whilst at an event please bring them to me
or the designated manager attending, not to the host PC
please, this could result in elimination of rider or team. I/we
will assess and deal with accordingly.
TEAMS : PLEASE
RESPECT THE DECISIONS MADE .
I WILL ALWAYS REPLY TO YOUR EMAILS, PLEASE REPLY TO MINE WHERE
APPROPRIATE! See you all soon, advice re training will follow in
due course.
Best regards
Caroline Martin ( NOT Mathews!)
